In order to determine the group of points of symmetry of a molecule, it is not necessary to find all symmetry elements or symmetry operations. Like you (see step 103) the symmetry elements in former times already saw themselves causing partially among themselves. One needs to prove or exclude therefore only the existence of a minimum number of symmetry elements, in order to determine the point group of symmetry unique. One can proceed quite systematically: For the determination of the point group of a molecule a regulation algorithm can be set up.
